Universidad de Salamanca, EPS Ávila
Full Professor on Integrated Water Management and Hydraulics
About
José-Luis Molina has a degree in Civil Engineering, obtained in 2015, a degree in Environmental Sciences obtained in 2002 by the University of Granada (Spain) and three Masters related to the Environment and Water and Hydraulic Management. In addition, Dr. Molina obtained a Ph.D. in Water Management in 2009 from the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME) and the University of Granada with the title "Integrated Analysis and management strategies of aquifers in semi-arid zones. Application to the case study of the Altiplano (Murcia, SE Spain) ". Research: He has worked internationally with many research groups, such as the Oxford University Center for the Environment (OUCE), the Land Water and Air Department at the University of California-Davis, etc. In 2010 he obtained a postdoctoral research position at the Center for Integrated Assessment and Management of Watersheds (ICAM) of the National University of Australia (ANU), and after that, another postdoctoral position at the Water Engineering Research Institute and Environment (IIAMA) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). In addition, Professor Molina has over 40 publications in high impact SCI research journals such as "Journal of Hydrology", "Environmental Modelling and Software", "Water Resources Management." He is a reviewer of numerous research journals of the first quartile in the areas of Civil Engineering, Environment and Water Resources, is also an ANEP project evaluator and is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Hydrology (ELSEVIER). Teaching: He currently holds the position of Associate Professor in the Hydraulic Engineering Department of the Department of Cartographic and Terrain Engineering at the University of Salamanca. This teaching has been developed mainly in the areas of Hydraulic Engineering and External Geodynamics, having currently a full-time teaching experience of around 12 years. This teaching has been done at all levels of training, being a professor of different official university Masters, such as the Master of Integrated Water Management of the University of Cádiz, the Master of Planning and Management of Water Resources of the UPV, the Master in "Cartographic Geotechnologies in Engineering and Architecture" all related to the Engineering and Management of Water Resources. Recently, it has been officially approved by the University of Salamanca, ACSUCYL and ANECA the foundation of a new MsEng official program called "Modelling of Water Systems (ModSH)", of which JL Molina is the director.
