Professor Nguyen is currently Brace Endowed Chair Professor of Civil Engineering at McGill University (Canada). He is widely recognized for his novel research in Hydrologic Engineering and Water Resources Management covering a remarkable range of topics including climate change impact and adaptation, modelling of hydrologic extremes, and watershed modelling for sustainable water resource development. With over 250 influential peer-reviewed publications his pioneering research works have made significant contributions to the research community as well as to engineering practices worldwide. As a visionary research leader with a broad scientific expertise, he has been invited to serve in several national and international expert committees, and to deliver prestigious lectures at numerous national and international scientific conferences around the world. In addition, he has served in editorial boards of several renowned scientific international journals as well as invited professors at universities in Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
