Dr. Er earned his B. Eng in Environmental Engineering and Ph. D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2012 and 2017, respectively. Since then, he has made significant contributions to the field of coastal engineering, specifically focusing on sediment transport within coastal environments. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Er pioneered the development of the Barged Sediments Disposal Model (BSDM), an innovative engineering tool that has revolutionized the simulation of sediment plumes resulting from open-water barged sediment disposal. Upon graduation, Dr. Er joined DHI Water & Environment (S) Pte. Ltd. as a Marine Coastal Engineer. He quickly established himself as an expert in sediment transport and coastal hydrodynamic modelling, earning various leadership positions within the company. Over the past six years, Dr. Er has acted as a consultant to numerous Singaporean and international companies, as well as statutory boards, as an expert domain in coastal and sediment transport engineering.
