About

Dr Costantino Manes has established a leading international profile for his fundamental work in the area of environmental hydraulics and fluid mechanics, particularly related to wall-bounded flow turbulence, sediment dynamics, transportof substances in water and atmospheric flows, and ecohydraulics. Recently, he has expanded his interests to biomedical applications and hydrodynamic cavitation. His research work can be qualified as outstanding in terms of originality, rigor, and richnesswith truly novel ideas and inspiring conceptual content. Many of his studies re-examine long-standing unsolved hydraulic problems and offer new unconventional and promising ways for solving them. In this respect Dr Manes’ research is a true resemblance of Arthur ThomasIppen’s own work and leadership in strengthening the rigorous foundations of hydraulics.
