About

I am currently working as Associate Professor in the Hydraulic Engineering Group at NTNU, Norway. My motivation and passion is to contribute to a better understanding of the details of complex processes (flow, air, particles, ice), considering the whole picture and to apply this knowledge to sustainable hydraulic structure designs and guidelines, around the globe. Living in a time when the need for excellent hydraulic engineering is so high due to changing framework conditions, aging structures, the need for sustainability and outstanding possibilities in computer power and measuring devices motivates me to use the opportunities and make a positive contribution to the future. My main achievements include a better understanding of free surface flow, waves, and turbulence for complex tunnel designs for pumped storage plants, floods, sediment, and fish bypassing, but also weirs and diversion structures. This includes catchment considerations, including debris and high sediment laden flows, sediment, and river management.
