He holds a BSc in Environmental Engineering from Zewail City of Science and Technology and an applied master's degree in Development Practice from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Mahmoud is highly experienced in water governance, monitoring, research data dissemination, management, and diplomacy, and has worked on transboundary water cooperation projects, data gathering and dissemination, and training for water experts. Mahmoud is also a dedicated youth advocate for water- related issues, having founded the Groundwater Youth Network and engaged in various related initiatives. Mahmoud’s unwavering dedication to advancing the principles of water reuse and circular economy through his advocacy work has earned him widespread recognition as a leading voice in this critical area.
