Abstract: Many efforts have been reported in literature to handle source terms retaining as valid the approximate solutions for systems of equations without source terms described in earlier works. The of presence changes the solution of the Riemann problem, and the solution defined for the homogeneous case is no longer valid, leading to important difficulties in real applications. Recent advances on augmented approximate Riemann solvers constructed to include the presence of the source terms in the weak solution under a unified framework are presented here.
