Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and Integrated Member of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto (CIIMAR). Graduated (2003), PhD in Civil Engineering (2010) and Habilitation/Aggregation (2021) by FEUP. Main research lines focused on the application of physical and numerical modelling to various areas of Coastal, Port and Offshore Engineering: Marine Renewable Energy, Wave Energy, Port Breakwaters, Berthing Structures, Climate Change and Coastal Protection. Relevant activity also in the area of ​​Urban Hydraulics, Hydrology and Water Resources. Teaching activity in several Curricular Units (CUs) covering these thematic areas in 4 Masters courses of UPORTO and several CUs of PRODEC. Senior Member and Specialist in Hydraulics and Water Resources by the Portuguese Engineering Council (Ordem dos Engenheiros), having participated in more than 45 studies, projects and consultancy activities in the area of ​​Coastal, Port and Offshore Engineering, Hydrology and Urban Hydraulics. Researcher in more than 18 national and international R&D projects. Coordinator at FEUP for the WEC4Ports (OCEANERA-NET) and ATLANTIDA (NORTE2020) projects. Supervisor of several Masters, PhD and Post-doctoral students/researchers. Author of over 175 scientific papers, 50 of which in journals indexed in the first quartile (Scopus). Received several pedagogical and scientific recognition awards from FEUP. Expert evaluator of R&D proposals for different national and international entities. Reviewer for 18 scientific journals. Member of the Organizing and Scientific Committee of several national and international Congresses and Conferences. Associated Editor of the Journal of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ISSN: 1646-8972), indexed in Scopus. Associated Director of the Journal of Water Resources (ISSN: 0870-1741, since 2017). Member of the editorial board of other journals. Guest editor of several Special Issues in indexed journals. Co-coordinator of the Marine Energy research group at CIIMAR and NEMAR - Hydraulic Structures and Marine Energy Group at FEUP, since 2016. Member of the Board of the Northern Regional Branch of the Portuguese Water Resources Association (APRH-Norte) since 2016. Member of several national and international associations.
